Who we are
This website, punchymod.com, is run by Punchy Guys Studios, a studio of two founders that makes animation mods for Minecraft.
For questions about this page or anything else, write to [email protected] or ask us on our Discord server.
What we collect
This site has no accounts, no forms and no comments, and we do not ask you for personal information. Each page does keep a short note for Google Tag Manager: the page you are on, the links to other sites you press (downloads and our partner included), and whether you copy our partner's code.
The note stays in the open page and is gone when you leave it. Google Tag Manager reads it only if you press Accept, and the statistics we get all come from Google Analytics, described below.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, which delivers the pages to your browser. Like any host, Vercel receives your IP address and basic details of each request, such as the page you asked for and your browser type, and keeps logs of them to run and protect its service. Read Vercel's privacy policy for the details.
Cookies and your choice
The first time you visit, a strip at the top of the page asks whether Google Analytics and ads may use cookies. Until you answer, and if you press Reject, neither of them loads and neither sets a cookie.
We remember your answer in your browser's local storage, under the name pgs-consent-v1. It stays in your browser. You can change it at any time with Cookie choices in the footer, or with the button below.
Google Analytics
If you press Accept, we load Google Tag Manager (container GTM-56FK3XJP), which runs Google Analytics 4. It counts page views and the clicks on links that leave this site, so we can see which pages and projects people care about.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives your IP address together with details such as your browser, your device and the page you viewed. They are handled under Google's privacy policy. You can also install Google's opt-out add-on for your browser.
Ads
If you press Accept, we also load Google AdSense (publisher ca-pub-2757213169504343). It can show ads in boxes marked Advertisement. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, to measure them and to personalize them.
You can read how Google does this in How Google uses information from sites that use its services, and manage the ads you see in Google's ad settings. If you press Reject, no ad boxes appear.
Requests to Modrinth
Some pages show download numbers for Punchy! and for the packs in our compatibility collection. After the page has loaded, your browser may ask api.modrinth.com directly for the latest numbers, at most once every thirty minutes, and keeps the answer in local storage so other pages do not ask again. Our own servers are not involved.
Modrinth sees your IP address and browser details, as any website you visit does, and handles them under Modrinth's privacy policy. The pictures of packs in the collection also load from Modrinth's servers, at cdn.modrinth.com.
Trailers on YouTube
The Punchy! page shows our trailers as pictures from our own footage, and nothing is asked of YouTube until you press play on one. Then the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, and YouTube receives your IP address and browser details, which Google handles under Google's privacy policy.
Partner links
Our links to BisectHosting, our hosting partner, are partner links. When you follow one, BisectHosting sets a cookie on its own site that tells it you came from us, and if you buy a server there, we get a commission. It goes back into the mods.
Anything you buy from BisectHosting or tell it is handled under BisectHosting's privacy policy.
Other sites
Links to Discord, GitHub, TikTok, YouTube, Ko-fi, Modrinth, CurseForge and BisectHosting take you to other sites. They have their own privacy policies, and we do not control them. Read Discord's privacy policy before you join a server if you are new to it.
Your choices
You are in control of what is stored in your browser.
- Press Cookie choices in the footer to change your answer.
- Block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings.
- Use Google's ad settings and opt-out add-on, linked above.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, such as asking what a company holds about you or asking it to delete it. This site has no accounts, so we keep no profile of you. To ask about the Google Analytics data described above, or anything else, write to [email protected]. For Google, Vercel, Modrinth and BisectHosting, you can also contact them or use their own privacy tools.
